White lotion :


Type of preparation:

A lotion made with chemical reaction.



Formula :


Zinc sulfate: 4g


Sulfurated potash: 4g


Purified water…q.s. 100ml.


Principle:

sulphurated potash is a mixture of potassium poly sulphides and potassium
thiosulphate. Some formulations may contain bentonite as suspending agent.


ZnSO4. 7 H2O + K2S3. K2S2O3 → ZnS↓+ S2+ K2SO4 + K2S2O3 +7H2O
 


Dissolve separately Zinc sulfate and Sulfurated potash in water.
Add the solution of Sulfurated potash slowly to Zinc sulfate solution with constant stirring.
The lotion is to prepared freshly.


Storage:

Stored in a well closed container.

Use:

local astringent and protectant and used in the treatment of acne.
